CONECT Hosts CBP Webinar on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR)

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has the authority to detain, seize, forfeit, and destroy merchandise seeking entry into the United States if it bears an infringing trademark or copyright. CBP also has the authority to enforce patents and trade secrets at the border. Who better, then, to guide importers through the Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) maze?

Mark your calendars for Thursday, September 17, from 1:00 p.m - 2:00 p.m. Eastern, when Alaina van Horn, Chief of CBP’s Intellectual Property Rights Branch, will present a special webinar on IPR for CONECT members.

The webinar will provide an overview of CBP’s IPR enforcement regime, the trademark and copyright e-Recordation program, the detention and seizure process, and all IPR-related programs available to the trade community. The webinar will also help intellectual property rights owners to partner with CBP in protecting intellectual property rights and facilitating legitimate trade.

This webinar is FREE to CONECT members. Non-members may join CONECT for a 3-month trial ($62.00), which will offer member benefits, including this free webinar and discounted rates for the upcoming Northeast Cargo Symposium (NECS).  Contact Karen Pim.
