The eBond concept has been around for many years, but soon it will be replacing the traditional Customs Bond.  The eBond functionality in ACE is in development and will be deployed in January 2015.  In ACE, CBP requires the submission of customs bonds to be from the surety/surety agent, with data provided by the entry filer.  What does this mean for the trade community?  If you are filing entries in ACE, an eBond will be required.  Furthermore, CBP is mandating that ACE be the system of record for all entries in November 2015.
