Please join us for a CONECT Congressional Roundtable with Congressman David Cicilline on Friday, December 5th at CONECT member office, CVS, from 9am-10:30am. This roundtable discussion will include many critical trade and transportation topics.
A tremendous opportunity for an informal, face to face discussion of what Congress is up to, and the issues that you may wish to raise with the Congressman. Congress has a lot on its plate during the Lame Duck and with the beginning of the 114th Congress in January - important trade preference programs must be renewed, transportation and infrastructure funding is critical. Negotiations over the Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP) continue to progress, and the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) discussions are in full swing. This roundtable will be a great opportunity to talk with Congressman Cicilline about ways to improve U.S. trade and transportation policy and increase our region's competiveness and create jobs in and around Rhode Island. Congressman Cicilline was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 2011. He represents the state's 1st district, which includes the Cities of Pawtucket, Bristol, Portsmouth, Newport, and part of Providence. Prior to serving in Congress, Cicilline was the Mayor of Providence for two terms, and he served in the Rhode Island House of Representatives. Congressman Cicilline earned a Bachelor's degree at Brown University, and later received a law degree from Georgetown University Law Center.
