Connections: CONECT offers multiple networking opportunities for importers, exporters, and trade or transportation service providers to expand their industry scope, as well as the ability to share best practices with peers. Crucial Industry Knowledge: CONECT offers numerous discounted educational opportunities featuring industry, media and government experts advising on timely and critical trade and transportation related topics.
Industry News: CONECT's E-newsletter (CONECTivity) offers proprietary members-only content, important trade and transportation news, advice on trade issues from member attorneys and first notices of upcoming industry events. CONECT Counsel, Peter Friedman, will provide current status reports on federal issues, and insights on how these critical issues may be resolved. Influence: CONECT provides members with a political voice in Washington DC, through New England congressional roundtables. Advocacy with policymakers and regulators is also achieved through position papers on critical industry issues during CONECT's member-only "Tuesdays@10" call. CONECT Recurring Events Northeast Trade & Transportation Conference (T&T) – 2.5 days of programs featuring high level speakers on critical trade & transportation industry topics. Most often held in Newport, RI. Product Classifications Seminars – multiple commodities offered throughout the year with the appropriate government agencies participating and educating. Cargo Facilities Tours of CBP Facilities, Seaport and Airport – usually offered in the spring, summer and fall – always sell-outs. Local Congressional Roundtables featuring New England’s U.S. Senators and Congressmen. Timely industry webinars on trade or transportation issues. Other networking and educational opportunities as requested by membership.
